This year again, Vrgorac becomes the centre of Dalmatian flavours, aromas and good fun. The event has drawn thousands of visitors for years. It confirms Vrgorac once more as the capital of Dalmatian pršut, wine and a first-class celebration.
Two days of exhibitions, food, art and entertainment await you. There will be fine delicacies, good wines, concerts, company and an atmosphere you remember. This year the focus is on the cooking shows. They bring live culinary presentations and join tradition with modern cooking.
Taste wines made from native Dalmatian grape varieties, and wines from Herzegovina, Slovenia and Italy. With them comes the king of every celebration, Dalmatinski pršut.
This year the event brings an even wider food offer. Next to Dalmatinski pršut, visitors can taste guest cured ham specialities: Istarski pršut, Drniški pršut, Prosciutto di Parma and Kraški pršut from Slovenia. Slovenia also sends a food attraction, a mortadella two metres long. Top local cheeses, a selection of Italian cheeses and a wide offer of family farms (OPG) with home-made products and delicacies round out the offer.
A special festival experience comes from the world-known Poetica gin and liqueurs with their signature cocktails which lift the atmosphere of the event.
The programme has a special part: cooking shows in which well-known chefs and ŠKMER ambassadors prepare dishes live in front of the audience. In the cooking show “Vrgorac na mediteranskom pijatu” (Vrgorac on a Mediterranean plate) the chefs create dishes inspired by local ingredients, pršut and Vrgorac wines. Tradition and modern cooking meet in one food experience. Saturday is reserved for an additional cooking programme by the Crafts Association of Split-Dalmatia County.
The exhibition pršut-slicing contest “Dobra ruka” (Good Hand) brings a special mood again this year. Exhibitors and visitors both test their precision and skill in slicing pršut, with good prizes and strong interest from the audience. ŠKMER runs the contest programme. Masterchef Željko Neven Bremec and Stevo Karapandža add to the cooking part and give the event a clear professional and culinary signature.
Visitors can also visit the Art paviljon Oranžerija, a place where art, tradition and contemporary work meet. The programme includes Ante Tolić with live caricatures, the ARS association and Elena Klaričić with a painting exhibition, and PrapARTnice with wooden sculptures and one-off decorations.
The music programme brings concerts by Stela Rade on Friday and Petar Grašo on Saturday. Both days also bring an evening entertainment programme with bands, DJs and musicians.

19:00 – Opening ceremony of the “Dani Dalmatinskog pršuta i vina” (Days of Dalmatian Pršut and Wine) event
During the evening you can expect:
- tasting and sale of pršut, traditional cured meat products, wine and other local products
• cooking show “Vrgorski pijat” (The Vrgorac plate), in which top ŠKMER chefs join the flavours of Vrgorac, pršut and native Vrgorac wines into fine dishes
• presentation of the protected Krški pršut
• entertainment with live music: Gradski orkestar Ljudevit Bačić (the Ljudevit Bačić town orchestra), Specijalci bend Makarska, DJ Renato on vinyl, Željko Andrić on saxophone and a DJ
• Art paviljon Oranžerija: Ante Tolić, the ARS association and Elena Klaričić, PrapARTnice

• entertainment with Specijalci bend Makarska, 058 bend Split, DJ Renato on vinyl, Željko Andrić on saxophone and a DJ

Gradska fontana (the town fountain), a corner for enjoyment and rest
On both days the Gradska fontana has a special corner with GALO burgers, a chill zone and DJ Dama.
The event is organised by the Vrgorac Tourist Board and the Town of Vrgorac. The general sponsor is Pivac grupa. The partners are the Dalmatinski pršut Association and the Association of Winemakers and Winegrowers of the Town of Vrgorac. The patrons are the Croatian National Tourist Board, the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board and Split-Dalmatia County. The media partners are Radio Dalmacija and Slobodna Dalmacija.
